Sigh... this song is nearly 50 year old. And I still love it. One of the most simple and still most touching songs I ever met.

Originally it was written to a female singer, but I like more the version where the author, Bródy János sings it himself.
The melody is based on a centuries old folk song.
In the communist era the song was banned, the records were crushed to pieces.
